Maintenance Engineer

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and executing maintenance projects, while ensuring industrial equipment performance, solving technical problems, and continuously improving maintenance systems. You will also play a key role in optimizing resources, complying with safety standards, and meeting project deadlines. More specifically, you will: 

 

  • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs in collaboration with other departments to ensure the proper functioning and longevity of industrial equipment.
  • Manage maintenance projects, including planning, resource coordination, and deadline management, to ensure their success.
  • Identify and solve complex technical problems, implementing appropriate solutions, while optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Support maintenance teams in repairing and replacing faulty components, while ensuring the availability of spare parts within deadlines.
  • Optimize systems to improve energy efficiency and reduce operating costs through technical projects.
  • Ensure that equipment and systems comply with safety standards, particularly in electricity and industrial safety.
  • Train staff in equipment use and good practices for preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Participate in managing and monitoring CAPEX projects, ensuring timely and proper execution of maintenance projects.
  • Define, track, and analyze key performance indicators to continuously improve maintenance processes and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to optimize maintenance operations.
  • Stay up to date on technological advancements and new maintenance practices to propose continuous improvements to systems and processes.
  • Participate in planning and implementing technical infrastructure projects, while adhering to safety constraints and meeting production deadlines.
  • Manage maintenance shutdown periods by planning and coordinating tasks to minimize operational interruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with the electrical safety program, particularly by applying preventive measures against the risk of electric arcing and other hazards.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • University degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, set priorities, and work independently and efficiently.
  • Fluency in French, both written and spoken.
  • Intermediate level of English (written and spoken). This level of English is required for this position, as you will be required to interact with our English-speaking customers.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles applicable to mechanical, civil, or electrical systems, depending on the chosen area of expertise.
  • Successful completion of the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
