POSITION SUMMARY 

 

As a Costing and Pricing Analyst, you will plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making by developing accurate cost estimate and pricing models. This position is responsible for analyzing cost structures, evaluating pricing strategies, and ensuring competitive and profitable pricing across new builds, conversions, and repair projects. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and maintain detailed cost models for new builds, conversions, and repair projects.
  • Analyze historical project data, supplier quotes, and market trends to support cost estimates and inform pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., business development, procurement, operations, finance) to gather relevant data and validate assumptions.
  • Develop pricing models and support bid submissions with detailed cost breakdowns, ensuring alignment with client specifications and contract requirements.
  • Complete pricing analysis as well as scenario and risk modelling activities.
  • Support the monitoring of project cost performance and provide variance analysis to support continuous improvement.
  • Support operations, financial forecasting, and budgeting processes with labour, cost and pricing data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations related to pricing and costing.
  • Maintain estimating dashboards (Power BI), cost models and databases (MS Excel), and estimating tools (ProPricer).

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in costing, pricing analysis, or financial modelling.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and financial modelling tools; experience with ProPricer estimating software and Oracle ERP systems is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Bilingual—French and English (spoken and written).
  • Familiarity with competitive pricing strategies and market analysis.
  • Experience in ship building, ship repair or related industries.
  • Understanding cost accounting principles, margin analysis, and of contract structures (e.g., fixed price, time and materials, cost-plus).
  • Certification in cost estimation or project controls (e.g., AACE, PMI-SP) is an asset.
  • Successfully complete the investigation and security clearance process required by the federal government’s Contract Security Program.
