About the Opportunity

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll deploy and operate Kong Gateway on OpenShift, managing API traffic, authentication, authorization, and edge policies.
• You’ll support enterprise API policies and manage gateway lifecycle, including configuration updates, scaling, certificates, and upgrades.
• You’ll build, maintain, and operate on-prem OpenShift clusters, managing nodes, operators, and platform stability.
• You’ll configure and operate OpenShift Service Mesh for secure, observable service-to-service communication, including traffic management and zero-trust security.
• You’ll administer underlying RHEL hosts and supporting services, ensuring patching, upgrades, and database stability for CockroachDB and Postgres platforms.
• You’ll maintain platform observability through dashboards, alerts, and monitoring, tuning thresholds to ensure high signal quality.
• You’ll partner in incident response, change management, and reliability operations, meeting SLAs and aligning with ITIL practices.

Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT experience or equivalent, with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT.
• 5+ years operating enterprise API Gateway and Ingress platforms, specifically Kong Gateway.
• Strong hands-on experience with OpenShift, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and automation scripting (Ansible, Bash, Python).
• Experience with GitOps workflows, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform a plus), and ITIL-aligned change management.
• Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools such as Solarwinds and Dynatrace.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on reliability and automation-first practices.
