About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established Canadian retail organization, is seeking a Merchandise Allocator to support a dynamic and fast-moving store network. This role plays a key part in ensuring customers find the products they want, when and where they need them, by optimizing allocation and distribution strategies.
You’ll work closely with merchandising, planning, and operations teams to translate data into action. Your Responsibilities
You’ll analyze historical sales data, promotional activity, and market trends to forecast product demand.
In this role, you’ll determine optimal inventory allocation by store, factoring in performance, demographics, and local market conditions.
You’ll collaborate with buyers and planners to support replenishment strategies that minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
You’ll coordinate with distribution centers to ensure smooth inbound and outbound product flow.
You’ll monitor store-level sales metrics and adjust allocation strategies to maximize performance.
You’ll prepare reports and insights to support leadership decision-making.
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of experience in retail merchandising, allocation, or inventory management.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel or comparable data analysis tools.
Solid understanding of retail math including sell-through rates, weeks of supply, and turnover ratios.
Experience with merchandise planning systems is considered an asset.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple stakeholder groups.
