Are you an experienced security professional seeking a high-responsibility role in a federal environment?
As a Tactical Security Guard, you will work in a high-security facility supporting detention operations, access control, patrols, and incident response. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in security, law enforcement support, or military environments.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in federal security operations, use-of-force standards, and crisis management, making this an excellent stepping stone toward careers in law enforcement, border services, or public safety.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard

  • Ensure the protection of individuals, property, and assets within the facility
  • Escort detainees within the premises using restraints as necessary for safety
  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion while working with individuals under stress
  • Observe and monitor detainee behaviour and report concerns
  • Conduct regular foot patrols – both indoors and outdoors
  • Utilize security software and equipment effectively
  • Conduct frequent wellness checks
  • Generate accurate incident and daily reports
  • Respond swiftly to emergency situations using tactical de-escalation techniques

Qualifications for Tactical Security Guard

  • Valid BCSecurity Guard License
  • Valid First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) – an asset
  • Advanced Security Training (AST) – an asset
  • Must have resided in Canada for the past 5 years
  • High school diploma or equivalent (proof of education required)
  • Able to pass Public Works Clearance and Vulnerable Sector Check
  • At least 1 year of experience in a security role
  • Demonstrated ability to act decisively in high-pressure situations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
