Location: Barrie
Duration: Temporary / Seasonal (Approx. March 2nd to April 30th)
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Overnight, Weekends

Position Overview:

We are seeking professional, alert, and community-minded Tactical Security Guards to provide safety and security services at a seasonal Warming Centre. The Warming Centre offers temporary shelter and support services to vulnerable individuals during extreme cold weather conditions.

This is a temporary assignment requiring strong conflict management skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work in high-stress environments while maintaining compassion and professionalism.

Responsibilities for Tactical Security Guard in Barrie

 

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, staff, and volunteers
  • Monitor entry and exit points; conduct bag checks if required
  • Enforce site policies and safety protocols respectfully and consistently
  • De-escalate conflicts
  • Respond to disturbances, medical emergencies, or safety concerns
  • Conduct regular patrols (interior and exterior)
  • Document incidents and complete detailed reports
  • Liaise with emergency services (Police, Fire, EMS) when necessary
  • Support a respectful and welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness or crisis

 

Qualifications for Tactical Security Guard in Barrie

 

  • Valid Security Guard License (required)
  • First Aid & CPR certification (required)
  • Experience in high-risk, shelter, healthcare, or community environments preferred
  • Strong de-escalation and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in volatile situations
  • Clear criminal background check
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods
