The Government of Alberta (GoA) is seeking a strategic Information Security Officer 3 (ISO3) to lead high-impact cybersecurity awareness initiatives, protect critical government information, and foster collaboration across public and private partners through CyberAlberta.

As an Information Security Officer 3 (ISO3), reporting to the Manager, Stakeholder Engagement and Delivery, you will manage and execute comprehensive cybersecurity awareness programs for both the GoA’s Cybersecurity Program and CyberAlberta. You will play a pivotal role in cultivating a strong security culture among employees, contractors, third parties, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with leadership expectations and measurable improvements in cybersecurity awareness and behavior.
The ISO3 is the senior working-level position and may lead a team, major initiative, or project related to information security.

Term of Employment: Permanent full-time position
Hours of Work: 36.25hrs/ week – Monday to Friday
Location: Remote across Alberta
This position is eligible for remote work. You must reside in Alberta to work remotely.
A written assessment may be required as part of the interview process.
Depending on the project, on-call rotation and overtime may be required.
Final candidates will be required to undergo enhanced security screening. Any costs associated with obtaining the required documents/checks as noted or interview travel expenses, will be the responsibility of the candidate. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
