Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is welcoming a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to work with top board-certified specialists and the ability to partake in cutting-edge veterinary medicine. Our goal is to provide a long-term career as an emergency veterinarian, with a sustainable shift-rotation schedule and a stimulating yet manageable caseload.

Western strives to provide our team with a respectful, educational, productive, fun and collaborative work environment where the primary goal is to provide world-class veterinary services and patient care. We offer a dynamic team environment, encompassing specialty and emergency services. Candidates should have previous emergency experience, and completion of an internship program is an asset. We pride ourselves on exceptional client service and communication skills. Our 24-hour emergency department is led by our team of three Criticalists and a Critical Care Resident.   • A valid DVM from an accredited university

  • Genuine passion for emergency medicine and special interest in Trauma/Critical Care

  • Dedicated to promoting team-based medicine practices

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, pet parents and community

  • A passion for coaching and mentoring

Schedule: The emergency team works a rotational schedule, including overnights and weekends. This allows for even distribution of the workload and an overall improved hospital experience. Our specialists also participate in providing after-hours support to our emergency team.
