Commissionaires Southern Alberta is currently seeking Guards and Matrons to support operations at the Cardston RCMP Detachment on a casual, on-call basis.


About the Role

As a Guard or Matron, you will play a critical support role within the RCMP detachment, ensuring the safety, dignity, and well-being of people in custody. Working closely with RCMP members, you will:

  • Monitor detainees and complete required checks
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation
  • Assist RCMP members with daily custody-related tasks
  • Help maintain a clean, safe, and secure holding environment
  • Uphold professional standards, confidentiality, and sound judgment

This position requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a controlled, structured environment.


Who We’re Looking For

  • Ability to successfully complete an RCMP Security Clearance
    (Clearance process typically takes ~3 months)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Current Emergency or Standard First Aid certification
  • Former RCMP or Military experience is a strong asset
