Your Responsibilities
- You’ll act as a network security subject matter expert, advising on segmentation, zoning, and access controls.
- In this role, you’ll oversee firewall, UTM, NAC, DNS firewall, NDR, DDoS, CDN, and WAF capabilities to ensure strong defensive posture.
- You’ll review and approve network security designs and changes delivered by managed service providers.
- You’ll design and refine detection and protection use cases, including custom IDS and IPS signatures.
- You’ll lead infrastructure threat modeling and support penetration and segmentation testing initiatives.
- You’ll analyze network traffic and PCAP data to support threat hunting and incident response.
- You’ll develop KPIs and KRIs and communicate security insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills and Qualifications
- 5 to 7+ years of progressive experience in network security or a related cybersecurity field.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Deep expertise in firewalls, DDoS protection, DNS security, NDR, and enterprise network architecture.
- Strong knowledge of threat modeling, risk analysis, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as OWASP, ISO 27001, and NIST.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, or OSCP are considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
- Eligibility to apply for a Secret Federal Government Clearance (requires 10 years of physical presence in Canada)
