As the Ministry of Forestry and Parks, we promote environmentally responsible forest management, including wildfire control, and preserve provincial parks for public recreation. We manage public lands to support both conservation and sustainable use, including recreational access, commercial activities, and grazing leases for Alberta producers.

The Ministry of Forestry and Parks is seeking a Provincial Fisheries Resource Specialist to provide expert advice and leadership in Alberta’s fisheries management. This position is responsible for developing and implementing provincial-level policies and strategic initiatives that operationalize short- and long-term ministerial priorities. The role requires collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure that fisheries allocation decisions are scientifically defensible and aligned with the goals of the Branch.

This is a full-time, one-year temporary position located in Edmonton.
Other locations in Alberta may be considered.
Monday – Friday, 7.25 hours per day / 36.25 hours per week.
