We are expanding our workforce in Lethbridge and are seeking professional and responsible Security Guards to join our team.


The Opportunity

As a Security Guard assigned to Lethbridge sites, you will help maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients. This includes patrolling premises, enforcing security procedures, responding to incidents, and providing exceptional customer service.

This position is ideal for individuals who are attentive, dependable, and able to remain calm and professional under pressure. You will work in various environments while representing Commissionaires with integrity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Control access to buildings; issue passes and escort or direct visitors
  • Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols to deter theft, vandalism, and fire hazards
  • Enforce site rules to maintain safety and resolve conflicts as required
  • Monitor premises using security control‑room equipment and technology
  • Communicate effectively using radios, reporting systems, and digital tools
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations
  • Follow established safety and emergency protocols, including fire alarms and evacuation procedures
  • Provide clear, respectful, and professional customer service
  • Maintain accurate written reports and incident logs

Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Valid Alberta Security Guard License (required)
  • Valid Standard or Emergency First Aid certification (required)
  • Fluent in English (verbal, written, and reading)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to stay calm and effective during emergency situations
  • Physically fit to stand, sit, walk, and climb stairs for long periods
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts, including overnights and weekends
  • Ability to use computers, phones, and digital reporting tools

Assets:

  • Class 5 (Non‑GDL) Driver’s License with clean abstract
  • Former RCMP or military service
  • Military family background
  • Education or training in law enforcement

Working Conditions

  • 12‑hour shifts, scheduled any day of the week
  • Work may take place indoors or outdoors, including during inclement weather
  • Prolonged standing, sitting, walking, and stair climbing
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on operational requirements
