About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing BC crown corporation, is seeking a Senior Specialist, Payroll to support a critical short-term need within their Finance team. This role will play a key part in stabilizing and optimizing payroll operations following a recent system launch.

You will work closely with the Manager, Payroll Operations and a small, experienced payroll team, providing technical expertise, system guidance, and collaborative leadership. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a complex payroll environment while helping shape best practices.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll provide senior-level payroll expertise, supporting live payroll operations across salary and hourly employees with varied payroll schedules.
  • You’ll act as a systems resource for SAP SuccessFactors, including Employee Central Time and Employee Central Payroll, ensuring proper process use and troubleshooting complex issues.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with Payroll Coordinators and the Manager to review work, provide informal leadership, and coach through technical challenges.
  • You’ll oversee payroll data integrity and ensure alignment with SAP S4 financial ledger requirements.
  • You’ll partner with internal stakeholders, including People and Culture and business leaders, to resolve payroll inquiries.
  • You’ll support system testing, enhancements, and process improvements within Finance Operations.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including technical or informal leadership responsibilities
  • Payroll Leadership Professional PLP designation preferred, and Payroll Compliance Practitioner PCP certification
  • Hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors Payroll, Employee Central Time, and SAP S4 strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes in a non-union, mid-to-large organization
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate respectfully with team members across the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working remotely with personal IT equipment and secure VPN access
