The Manager, ER Enterprise & Policy Support, plays a critical role in advancing the success of the Employee Relations Department by leveraging Employee Relations data to conduct thorough analysis, support policy and other ER documentation development, and contribute to the execution to strategic enterprise programs. This position ensures consistency and alignment across Scotiabank’s footprint by using data-driven insights to inform decision-making within the Employee Relations department, the business lines, and corporate functions. Additionally, this position collaborates with the Senior Manager, Community of Practice, Employee Relations Leadership team, and other stakeholders to support the development, implementation, and governance of employee relations documentation, quality assurance and initiatives while contributing to the effective delivery of key projects.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Support the Employee Relations data reporting strategy, internally and externally:
  • Prepare, analyze and present data and reporting to support the Employee Relations function and broader Bank initiatives.
  • Leverage data insights to identify trends, patterns, and emerging issues in Employee Relations matters across the Bank.
  • Conduct detailed analysis to assess consistency in the outcomes of Employee Relations cases and the ways in which these cases are managed across business lines and geographies.
  • Ensure data governance practices are applied consistently to maintain data integrity and compliance.
  • Policy support and governance
  • Collaborate with the Employee Relations team to review, update, and implement processes, policies and other documentation that align with the Bank’s goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to inform and shape enterprise-wide Employee Relations policies and programs.
  • Project management and stakeholder collaboration:
  • Partner with the Employee Relations team and stakeholders to contribute to the planning, initiation, and execution of Employee Relations projects.
  • Advise on Employee Relations matters, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and relevant regulations.
  • Produce training materials and presentations to be accessed and utilized by Employee Relations teams.
  • Audit & Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure timely and accurate provision of information for audit & regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate on the development and enhancement of tools and processes to drive consistent enterprise programs delivery.
  • Assist the Senior Manager, Global ER/LR Community of Practice in creating an environment within the Employee and Labour Relations team pursuing effective and efficient operations within his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have: 

  • Project management skills and ability to collaborate with Stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and PowerBi
  • Knowledge of Employee Relations is preferred, including an understanding of key practices and processes.
  • Strong knowledge of policies and compliance requirements, with particular emphasis on financial services.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills and high level of ability to provide expert advice.
  • Solid experience in data analysis and reporting; financial services experience is an asset.
  • Excellent time management and ability to lead several projects and deliverables.
  • Flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of tasks and functions.
  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills, motivational ability,  and strong organizational/analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English is required, Spanish or French is an asset.
  • ER equvalent experience is preferred
