The Water Resources Engineering unit in the Asset Management branch is responsible for the assessment and management of performance levels of linear water, wastewater, stormwater systems, and Natural Systems, including the development, monitoring and updating of hydraulic models for sanitary and storm sewer systems, conducting feasibility studies and functional designs, identification or infrastructure needs, and data interpretation for modeling purposes.
You are responsible for the management of a wide range of water resources engineering assignments that cover the planning, modeling, and infrastructure renewal related water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects, including recommending priorities for funding of specific infrastructure initiatives.
Related activities include characterizing performance of existing infrastructure; developing, gathering and interpreting infrastructure performance and population/land use growth data; maintaining currency with new and innovative infrastructure planning/implementation/design,; ensuring conformance of branch activities to legislated processes; coordinating branch activities with Official Plan updating requirements; monitoring adherence to Official Plan and Master Plans in infrastructure development;; managing major consultant led projects; and providing sectional technical liaison with the other professionals in the corporation and external organizations such as Conservation Authorities and provincial ministries.
You also play a key role in helping to establish and subsequently fulfill the overall priorities and direction for water, wastewater and stormwater asset management and planning.
Unit Expertise: The focus of work may be in one or more of the following areas:
Stormwater Management: Providing expertise in stormwater/urban stream modeling, planning and functional design of these systems.
Water and Wastewater: Providing expertise in the hydraulic modeling of urban water and wastewater systems and functional design of these systems.
Completion of 4 year university degree in Engineering, Geoscience, or related field
Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience in water, wastewater and stormwater renewal and growth servicing planning and implementation
