Agilus is recruiting for a Material Coordinator in the oil & gas sector in Sarnia, Ontario.
The Material Coordinator is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate procurement, tracking, and delivery of materials and services required to support refinery operations, maintenance, engineering, and turnaround activities. This role serves as the operational link between internal requesters, procurement, suppliers, and logistics teams. The Material Coordinator performs requisitioning, expediting, supplier communication, and documentation control within an SAP environment to ensure uninterrupted business operations

A typical day:
Verify requisition form submissions for accuracy and highlight any deficiencies to Project Manager.
Obtain quotes for single/sole source requirements, Create and enter material and service requisitions in SAP in alignment with internal approval workflows,Monitor requisition status through SAP and internal databases to ensure timely PO generation.
Act as an interface between engineering firms, vendors, and information management, Track incoming approval drawings, technical documents, and data packages, Track material readiness, delivery schedules, and forecast potential delays or risks. Support warehouse teams with receiving documentation, staging, and material identification.
Follow up with Purchasing & Contracting to ensure POs are issued and supplier acknowledgments received, Expedite suppliers to ensure manufacturing, shipment, and delivery progress aligns with operational schedules.
Communicate delays or supply chain risks to stakeholders and escalate as required, Collect, track, and file documentation such as MTRs, test reports, as-built drawings, warranties, and QA/QC certifications.
Coordinate logistics requirements in line with Incoterms, Ensure documentation is delivered at material receipt or service completion and stored according to standards.
Resolve issues related to pricing, deliveries, quality, quantity mismatches, or invoice discrepancies, Generate progress reports, KPIs, and material status dashboards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive cycle time reduction, SAP process optimization, and supplier performance enhancement, Other duties as assigned by line manager.
Successful candidates will have:
Five years of relevant experience in Supply Chain or Requisitioning.
Experience working in SAP MM (requisitions, POs, and GR/IR).
Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and commercial roles.
Experience supporting capital projects or turnarounds.
Background in refinery, petrochemical, industrial, or large maintenance environments is considered an asset.
Knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, logistics, and supply chain best practices.
Ability to multitask in a high volume, schedule-driven operational environment.
