Part-time By-law Enforcement

Commissionaires NBPEI is looking to hire a qualified
and responsible team member to work as a part-time By-law Enforcement Officer
in Saint John, NB.
THE ROLE
The Part-time By-law Enforcement Officer is a new
position with our client, the city of Saint John. The officer is
responsible for ensuring that the applicable by-laws of the city of Saint John
are properly adhered to, travel around the municipality to educate the public
and take appropriate measures with non-compliance.
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week, combination of days, evenings and weekends
Rate of Pay: $19.80 per
hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Respond
to public inquiries in a timely, courteous and professional manner
§ Prioritize,
investigate and resolve complaints related to by-laws keeping clear logs
§ Emphasize
education and voluntary compliance only escalating to warnings or action when
necessary
§ Conduct
both scheduled and reactive inspections throughout the municipality as required
§ Maintain
detailed, accurate records of all enforcement activity and submit monthly
reports
§ When necessary,
attend court and provide testimony supported with documentation and professionalism
§ Work
in coordination with municipal staff, emergency services and external agencies for
a collaborative approach to by-law enforcement
