Our client is seeking a Development Manager to join their Kelowna team. This role plays a critical part in delivering large, complex institutional projects that support academic, residential, and community infrastructure. You will oversee projects through the full lifecycle, from planning and design through procurement and construction, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned with long-term strategic objectives.
Working alongside senior leadership, consultants, contractors, and diverse campus stakeholders, you will help shape innovative spaces that support learning, research, and community growth. This is an opportunity to contribute to projects that have meaningful and lasting impact.
You will join a collaborative, forward-thinking development team managing a portfolio valued in the billions. This environment values ethical leadership, entrepreneurial thinking, and continuous improvement.
In addition to exposure to high-profile institutional builds, you will benefit from comprehensive extended health coverage, RRSP contributions, performance-based bonus opportunities, a car allowance, generous vacation and sick days, and a culture that promotes wellness and professional growth.
You’ll lead multiple large-scale institutional projects through planning, design, procurement, and construction.
You’ll manage budgets, timelines, consultant procurement, contract negotiations, and site oversight.
You’ll champion project vision and value, ensuring delivery aligns with stakeholder expectations and organizational priorities.
You’ll oversee consultant and construction teams from schematic design to occupancy, resolving deficiencies and driving accountability.
You’ll lead stakeholder engagement, maintaining consistent and documented communication across diverse internal and external groups.
You’ll mentor Project Managers and Coordinators, fostering growth and strengthening team capability.
7+ years of progressive experience in development and project management, ideally within complex institutional or academic environments.
Degree or diploma in a relevant industry field.
Demonstrated experience overseeing construction phases and managing multiple concurrent projects.
Knowledge of construction management delivery models and diverse procurement methods.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
Collaborative, analytical, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
“We’re looking for someone who thrives in complexity and enjoys bringing structure to ambitious projects. If you are motivated by building spaces that serve communities and value strong relationships as much as strong execution, you’ll do well here.”
