About the Opportunity

In this role, you’ll join a dynamic finance team supporting indirect tax compliance and advisory for a publicly regulated organization. You’ll work closely with senior tax specialists, Corporate Finance, Procurement, AP, IT, and Legal, helping ensure GST/HST and BC PST processes are accurate, timely, and compliant. Your contributions will help the business make informed decisions and manage regulatory obligations effectively.

You’ll also have the chance to work on a variety of initiatives, from month-end reconciliations and vendor contract reviews to new program launches, providing technical guidance on tax implications. This role offers a supportive, collaborative environment where your work has a tangible impact on the organization’s operations and financial integrity.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll support the preparation, review, and reconciliation of GST/HST and BC PST returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness
  • In this role, you’ll review transactions, invoices, and contracts to ensure correct indirect tax treatment and advise on implications for new agreements
  • You’ll assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes, including accruals, adjustments, and supporting schedules
  • You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external consultants, preparing analyses, documentation, and supporting information for audits or inquiries
  • You’ll help monitor indirect tax legislation and escalate potential impacts or risks to management
  • You’ll assist with tax coding, system reviews, and data validation in SAP and Excel, supporting procurement and P-card processes
  •  

Skills and Qualifications

  • CPA designation is highly desirable or progress toward completion, with a strong accounting background
  • Experience with GST/HST, BC PST and indirect tax compliance
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with SAP or a similar ERP considered an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Adaptable and quick learner, able to manage competing priorities and ad hoc requests
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborative advisory support across teams
