This is a senior leadership role providing strategic and operational guidance to a student-focused organization. As Executive Director, the role oversees all aspects of operations, from human resources and finance to facilities and governance, ensuring the organization runs efficiently while delivering programs, services, and events.
The Executive Director works closely with students, a Board of Directors, and management teams to mentor, support, and provide continuity in leadership. Externally, the role establishes and maintains strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including contractors, and the community, with a focus on driving long-term initiatives like the expansion of their facility.

Lead and mentor the senior management team, providing guidance, annual reviews, and professional development.
Oversee all financial aspects of the organization, including budgets, forecasts, audits, and the management of restricted funds.
Ensure operational excellence across services, events, and projects, managing risk, contracts, and compliance.
Advise the student executives and Board of Directors, providing expertise, historical context, and strategic recommendations.
Act as the project lead for the new Student Centre, coordinating contractors, monitoring budgets, and ensuring successful completion.
Ensure ongoing legal compliance, manage corporate contracts, insurance, and signing authority responsibilities.
Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring the organization’s reputation and strategic priorities are supported.
7 to 10 years of experience in operations management, ideally within a not-for-profit or student-focused organization
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
Proven experience with policy, procedures, and board governance
Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills
Project management experience, including planning, execution, and budget oversight
Familiarity with legal compliance, contracts, and organizational risk management
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
