As a Regional Vice President (RVP), you will lead and oversee a team of Regional Managers within an assigned market area covering Ontario Region (aligned with Canadian Banking Ontario Region, i.e.,  all Ontario with the exclusion of the GTA/Toronto Region), ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 
Supporting the Senior Vice-President, Scotia Financial Planning & Investment Distribution, the Regional Vice-President will lead and drive a customer-focused culture, developing and executing business development strategies through a financial planning framework and recruitment of Regional Managers and Financial Planners, contributing to the expansion of the Scotia Financial Planning team.



Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Works with the SVP, Scotia Financial Planning to develop a clear vision and business strategy for the assigned market area, in support of strategic business objectives
  • Leads the execution of sales management strategies and initiatives through observational coaching of Regional Manager; providing insight and guidance in support of their business development activities
  • Creates an environment in which the team delivers quality advice and service with client-centric investment recommendations, and building strong relationships and partnerships with other leaders in the Bank
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team. 


 
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in the investment industry, with a strong preference for wealth management and/or brokerage experience
  • Post-secondary education in Business or related field
  • Comfortable with frequent travel across Ontario Region.
  • Expert sales management skills and advanced knowledge of sales techniques and prospecting
  • Proven networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others
  • Experience with external recruitment of sales professionals
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external partners
  • Ability to establish and maintain a customer-focused sales culture, through expert knowledge of client experience drivers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

Working Conditions

  • Work in a hybrid environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Frequent travel domestically.
