The SAMU Account Manager delivers strong outcomes across a portfolio of high‑risk borrowing accounts by applying credit expertise to reduce loss exposure and manage risk. The role provides guidance to internal and external partners, makes sound credit decisions in alignment with Bank policies, and strengthens relationships to support portfolio profitability and stability.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Decisioning & Risk Management
Assess and recommend credit structures, including alternatives and restructuring options.
Perform financial and risk analysis to evaluate account quality, liquidity, and security position, documenting decisions clearly for customer understanding.
Advise on terms, conditions, collateral requirements, and mitigation strategies.
Monitor portfolio performance, respond to emerging risks, and stay informed on market and economic developments.
Maintain strong knowledge of lending practices, including loan structures, collateral, foreclosure, bankruptcy, and regulatory impacts.
Portfolio & Relationship Management
Act as a trusted advisor to the business, providing credit coaching to sales and service teams to enhance understanding of policy, risk, and transaction structuring.
Build effective relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders such as legal, insolvency professionals, and industry advisors.
Influence and negotiate with debtors and guarantors to achieve positive outcomes.
Strategic & Operational Support
Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit and lending policies, tools, and training programs.
Support strategic initiatives through research, analysis, and insights that inform business priorities.
Analyze data from multiple sources and prepare regular and ad‑hoc reports to support decision‑making and operational efficiency.
Coordinate workflow and exception requests, escalating concerns where appropriate.
Provide technical expertise to the team and offer guidance on complex issues.
Lead or participate in change management activities, including communication planning and stakeholder engagement.
Execution & Professional Judgment
Deliver accurate, timely service while working independently on non‑routine situations.
Apply sound judgment in identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues within established guidelines.
Provide specialized analytical and consultative support as needed.
Qualifications
5–7 years of relevant experience plus a post‑secondary degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Credit qualifications with strong knowledge of credit products, portfolio management policies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
Advanced technical proficiency gained through education and hands‑on experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Advanced collaboration, analytical, problem‑solving, influence, and data‑driven decision‑making capabilities.
