Medavie Health Services New Brunswick (MHSNB) is the subsidiary of Medavie Health Services responsible for the optimal operation and management of EM/ANB, an integrated organization specializing in the delivery of primary health care services with the goal of facilitating access to quality care so that patients can achieve better health outcomes. Our company is currently looking for new team members to support its mission of providing excellence in emergency and community care within our various programs, namely Ambulance New Brunswick, the Extra-Mural Program and NB Health Link. Each advocates for a highly coordinated, quality service offering guided by a goal of continuous improvement across primary health care.

We are looking for a Project Manager to help support our growing operation.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, the Project Manager will work with a diverse group of partners including internal and external stakeholder, clinical and non-clinical resources, to deliver projects that support the organization’s strategic plan and operational business plan.

The Project Manager will oversee project implementation activities while assigning project resources as appropriate. The Project Manager’s goal will be to deliver the project initiatives on time, within budget and within scope. The project manager will work with project specific Sponsors and Steering Committees who will provide oversight, guidance and ensure the achievements and delivery of project outcomes and outputs.

Major responsibilities include:

Project Planning

  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities.

  • Prepare for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures.

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.

  • Define team communications plan.

  • Establish team operating guidelines.

Project Execution & Control

  • Maintain project schedule.

  • Maintain RAID (Risks, Actions, Issues and Decision) logs.

  • Minimize corporate exposure to risk on project.

  • Create work breakdown structures and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.

  • Define and control project budget.

  • Assure project legal documents are completed and signed.

  • Ensure program quality management.

  • Review deliverables prepared by team.

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.

  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.

  • Provide direction and support to project team.

  • Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders including problems and solutions.

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

  • Determine appropriate revenue recognition, ensure timely and accurate invoicing, and monitor receivables for a project.

  • Hold regular status meetings with project team.

  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.

  • Provide consultation and assistance to project partners.

  • Guide development of sustainability plan (transition projects to operation).

  • Become familiar with the development of business requirements (use cases) and user stories.

  • Work collaboratively with community partners.

  • Foster a culture that focuses on patient safety and a safe workplace.

As the ideal candidate for this position you:

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, operation management or other related field or a combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a progressively responsible leadership position.

  • Minimum two years’ experience in project management related activities.

  • Experience managing large scale projects with multiple stakeholders.

  • Experience in people management, in strategic planning, risk management and change management.

  • PMP designation is considered an asset.

  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with business analysis is considered an asset.

  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools.

  • Proficient interpersonal relationships.

  • Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.

  • Experience with Health Services Projects.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite especially spreadsheets, word processing and database software.

  • Excellent time management skills, and demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

  • Bilingual, English and French considered an asset.

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
