About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established public sector organization seeking a CPA-designated Financial Analyst to join their Complex Accounting team during a critical ERP transformation. This role plays a key part in supporting revenue recognition, contract analysis, and financial reporting integrity while contributing to the rollout of Microsoft Dynamics 365.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Complex Accounting and working within a collaborative finance team, you will act as a trusted technical resource. Your work will directly support go-live milestones and ensure strong accounting judgment is applied across complex transactions, contracts, and operational reporting.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll support reconciliation, consolidation, and reporting requirements during the D365 ERP implementation and deployment.
  • You’ll prepare and execute Finance test cases within D365, documenting results and following up on exceptions.
  • You’ll lead revenue recognition accounting for complex contracts, bullion transactions, and specialized product lines.
  • You’ll analyze contracts and provide well-reasoned accounting recommendations grounded in IFRS.
  • You’ll complete month-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting.
  • You’ll account for provisions, liabilities, capital equipment, and donations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • You’ll support external audit requirements and recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls.

 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a complex business environment, manufacturing experience is an asset.
  • CPA (or comparable designation) required.
  • Must be eligible for Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including revenue recognition and IFRS.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing contracts and providing sound accounting recommendations.
  • Experience supporting ERP implementations, D365 exposure is an asset.
  • Advanced ERP system capabilities and strong Excel skills.
  • Ability to operate independently with strong analytical judgment and organizational skills.
