Responsibilities for Airport Security Guard

  • Customer service duties like welcome, check identification, and guide visitors
  • Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the airport curbside to ensure safe, orderly, and efficient passenger pickups and drop-offs while maintaining smooth traffic flow.
  • Enforce the airport’s three-minute active loading and unloading policy to optimize curbside availability and reduce congestion.
  • Monitor curbside operations proactively, addressing safety concerns, traffic buildup, or operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by assisting passengers, visitors, and airport partners with directions, information, and general support.
  • Provide wayfinding assistance throughout the terminal and airport property, ensuring passengers can navigate efficiently.
  • Offer physical assistance to passengers with disabilities between curbside and airline check-in counters, adhering to safety protocols and accessibility standards.
  • Respond to inquiries, complaints, and concerns using strong communication and de-escalation techniques to maintain a safe and positive environment.
  • Maintain situational awareness at all times and promptly report safety, security, or operational concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Develop working knowledge of airport operations, policies, and procedures through daily responsibilities and structured on-the-job training.
  • perform advanced security duties including patrols, securing restricted areas, issuing visitor passes, responding to incidents, operating surveillance systems, completing reports, and coordinating communications with security teams and airport stakeholders.

Qualifications for Airport Security Guard

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Saskatchewan  Security Guard License not mandatory but will be an asset
  • Valid First Aid & CPR Certification (An Asset)
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain airport security clearance (e.g., RAIC)
  • Strong knowledge of access control procedures, screening protocols, and emergency response practices
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with passengers and airport personnel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (additional languages considered an asset)
  • Proficiency in basic computer systems, incident reporting software, and radio communication equipment
  • Strong observational skills with attention to detail and sound judgment in high-pressure situations
  •  Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, with flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays
