The Role

This Senior Platform Engineer will contribute to the overall success of the GBM in globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and delivery of hybrid cloud platforms across on-premises environments and public cloud (Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure)
  • Architect, build, and operate on-prem Kubernetes clusters managed with Rancher, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability
  • Design and oversee managed Kubernetes platforms in the cloud (GKE / AKS) for production workloads
  • Build and operate cloud-native and serverless solutions using Cloud Run and Azure-native services
  • Architect and optimize data and analytics platforms, including BigQuery and Azure data services
  • Good knowledge of network and connectivity architecture, including VPC/VNet design, private connectivity, routing, and firewall controls
  • Good knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and zero-trust architectures across hybrid environments
  • Establish Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and automation standards
  • Ensure reliability, observability, and cost optimization of platforms in production
  • Provide technical leadership and governance, including architecture reviews, mentorship, and stakeholder collaboration
  • Oversee delivery of platform key projects
  • Collaborate with business / application development teams to ensure the platform can support the business logic and support application workloads effectively.
  • Automate product development life cycle.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot platform builds to ensure optimal performance and availability. Ensure upgrades are handled in a timely manner which helps in reducing EOL currency issues.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of overall experience in infrastructure, platform engineering or cloud architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing cloud solutions on-premises, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience building and operating on-premises Kubernetes clusters
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Kubernetes platform (GKE,AKS) in production environments
  • Experience designing hybrid cloud architectures integrating on-prem and public cloud
  • Strong background in infrastructure as code (Terraform) and CI/CD automation
  • Demonstrated experience leading architecture design, mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
