Leads and oversees Cryptographic Products / Cryptographic Product and Engineering in Canada ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Lead a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contribute and define the objectives and scope of crypto security products (e.g. certificates, secrets, key management, post-quantum cryptography, etc.), clearly outlines the problems, and risks it's solving.
  • Contribute the product strategy, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, MVP and rollout plan.
  • Build and maintain product vision roadmaps, facilitate communication on roadmap progress with Cryptography management and stakeholders.
  • Manage and prioritize with a risk-based approach on the product backlog, new features, and enhancements.
  • Facilitate forums and prepares the team for constructive collaboration sessions with cross-functional teams, technology and business channels, and control functions.
  • Develop business cases based on the roadmap and priority, aligns with Technology, PMO, and Finance teams on the funding required, cost and benefit analysis, and cost allocation model.
  • Report and tracks overall product status, metrics, key achievements, next steps and risks with a data-driven approach.
  • Drive transformational crypto programs such as the Post Quantum Cryptography committee.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • Advanced communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills in English. The same in Spanish is a strong asset.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a Product Management (or equivalent) capacity required.
  • 5+ years’ functional knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • 5+ years’ knowledge of API or other methods of software integration.
  • 5+ years’ strategic thinker, setting clear goals aligning to business objectives.
  • 5+ years’ experience translating business requirements into technical specifications.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Information Security or Information Technology.
  • 3+ years’ experience in working with Regulatory, Compliance, Risk and Audit functions.
  • 3+ years of vendor and/or contract management experience.
  • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management and adaptability skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum practices and tools is an asset.
  • Experience maintaining a product roadmap near and long-term vision.
  • Hands on coding or integration experience is an asset.
  • Certification such as: CISSP, CCSP or CISM would be an asset
