Agilus is recruiting for a Recruitment Consultant - Engineering & Technical in the Staffing Services Sector in a hybrid work environment in Calgary, Alberta.
As a Recruitment Consultant, you will play a critical role in connecting hard-to-find technical talent with meaningful career opportunities. You will leverage your relationship-building skills, technical curiosity, and recruitment expertise to source, assess, and place engineering and technical professionals across a variety of industries. This role combines consultative recruiting, candidate advocacy, and strong execution in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation model is base salary plus commission including contest bonus

How you will make an impact:
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of engineering and technical candidates through proactive sourcing, networking, referrals, and market research
Conduct in-depth technical and behavioural interviews to assess candidate capability, motivation, and cultural fit
Manage the full candidate life cycle, including registration, eligibility verification, documentation, and system updates
Deliver an exceptional candidate experience by setting clear expectations, providing coaching, feedback, and ongoing communication
Match qualified candidates to technical and engineering opportunities and prepare professional candidate submissions for clients and account teams
Support offer presentation, compensation discussions, and negotiations, and follow up post-placement to ensure long-term success
The successful candidate brings:
Proven experience working in a staffing agency environment, with a strong understanding of pace, service expectations, and managing multiple requisitions within tight timelines
Experience recruiting for engineering, technical, or other specialized skill-set roles, or a demonstrated interest in building technical market knowledge and recruiting expertise
Proven ability to source and engage both active and passive candidates using ATS platforms, LinkedIn, job boards, and networks
Strong interview, assessment, and relationship-building skills with the ability to gain trust quickly
Knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and compliance requirements, or a willingness to learn quickly
High level of accountability, organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
A proactive, resilient, and consultative mindset with a drive to learn, grow, and deliver results
