About the OpportunityOur non-profit client is seeking a HR Business Partner for a 2-month contract to start, with the possibility of extension. As an HR Business Partner, you’ll support employees and leaders across the organization while helping foster an inclusive, compliant, and values-driven workplace.
In this people-facing role, you’ll collaborate closely with managers, employees, and cross-functional partners to deliver end-to-end HR support—from onboarding and employee relations to performance management and development. Your work will directly impact employee experience, organizational effectiveness, and a culture rooted in trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities- Support recruitment and onboarding by coordinating contracts, first-day logistics, and seamless employee transitions
- Act as a first point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on policies, practices, and workplace concerns
- Contribute to a positive employee relations environment by supporting issue resolution with professionalism and confidentiality
- Ensure compliance with Canadian employment legislation by maintaining policies, documentation, and audit readiness
- Support performance management processes, including goal setting, feedback cycles, and development planning
- Maintain accurate employee records, assist with payroll and benefits administration, and prepare HR reports and metrics
Qualifications- 2–4 years of Human Resources or HR Generalist experience in a similar position
- Solid knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and HR best practices
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (BambooHR considered an asset)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote environment
- A collaborative, people-focused mindset with a high level of discretion and professionalism
