We're actively hiring for a Director of Public Works to oversee a team in Mînî Thnî for a one-year fixed contract role. Perfect person for this role has 5+ years of first nations experience and 5+ years of experience in public works. What's in it for you: $57.00 - $62.00 hourly Full time onsite in Mînî Thnî Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm One-year fixed contract with chance of extension Making a difference daily Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all Public Works operations, services, maintenance, and construction programs. Develop, implement, and monitor departmental policies, procedures, and operational standards (e.g., OH&S, vehicle certifications, maintenance programs). Lead Public Works management staff through effective supervision, coaching, mentoring, and annual performance evaluations. Prepare, present, and manage the departmental budget, ensuring compliance with policies, contracts, and allocated financial resources. Develop business and operational plans aligned with ISC guidelines, including funding proposals and agency business plans. Monitor departmental performance, identify gaps, and implement work plans to address service or operational deficits. Foster strong communication and collaboration with Leadership, the Public Works Committee, CAO, Nation members, and external partners. Respond to community concerns, maintain positive relationships with Nation members, and ensure issues are communicated to leadership as required.
