About the Opportunity

This on-site contract opportunity is ideal for a bilingual communications professional who thrives in community-focused environments and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to bring stories, messages, and campaigns to life. Supporting a non-profit organization in the social services sector, you will step in during a short-term leave to ensure continuity across communications and fund development activities.

Working closely with the Executive Director and internal program teams, your work will directly support community awareness, donor engagement, and organizational visibility. From social media content and newsletters to website updates and donor communications, your contributions will help amplify the organization’s impact and ensure its voice remains clear, compassionate, and consistent.

What’s in it for You

You will join a purpose-driven organization with a strong community mandate and a collaborative, people-first culture. This role offers hands-on exposure to meaningful communications projects, including rebranding and website refresh initiatives. You will also enjoy a predictable weekday schedule, with only occasional evening or weekend involvement tied to community or fundraising activities.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll create and execute bilingual content for social media, newsletters, email campaigns, and donor communications.

  • In this role, you’ll manage monthly newsletters using Mailchimp and update related content on the website through WordPress.

  • You’ll support internal communications by bringing structure, ideas, and consistency to messaging across teams.

  • You’ll help coordinate fundraising marketing activities, including donor acknowledgements and campaign materials.

  • You’ll ensure branding consistency across templates, letterheads, and promotional materials during a rebrand period.

  • You’ll collaborate with program staff to collect and write client stories that highlight compassion, impact, and community value.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or fundraising within a community-focused setting

  • Fully bilingual in French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Hands-on experience with WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, and social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently

  • A people-first mindset, with empathy, professionalism, and comfort engaging with donors and community partners

  • Availability to start immediately and openness to occasional evening or weekend activities if required
