DESCRIPTION

Stantec has an active Community Development Group that provides services to the land development industry in Waterloo Region and surrounding areas. As the successful candidate, you will be primarily responsible for inspection and contract administration for our land development projects. Local (regional) travel is expected. Your duties will include:

  • Inspection of construction activities, layout and designs.

  • Preparing and assisting with the preparation of contract correspondence, documents and specifications.

  • General site contract administration duties, including daily and weekly reports, quantities and compiling provisional payment certificates.

  • Coordinating with Stantec design teams, contractors, developers and the general public

  • Assisting with the coordination and work of projects relating to Community Development services.

  • Field identification of maintenance deficiencies, coordinate the repairs and city approvals.

  • Conducting and assisting with site surveying and/or inspection activities

As the ideal candidate,

  • You are enrolled in a civil engineering program (University or College) at an accredited civil engineering academic program and have previous exposure to construction activities.

  • You possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere;

  • You are highly organized and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments. In addition, previous experience in a computerized office environment using Microsoft Office and other Windows based applications would be considered an asset;

  • Experience in reading and interpreting construction and legal drawings;

  • Strong organizational skills, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments; and

  • Experience and a willingness to undertake resident construction review is also required.

  • A valid Ontario Driver’s Permit and your own vehicle are required for this position.

Pay Range:

• $23.37 - $32.07 Hourly

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
