Our client is building an internal web application that will help consultants work more efficiently at client sites such as schools, hospitals, and other public-facing environments. What’s currently handled manually is being “productized” into a modern, AI-driven workflow, and they need someone who can move fast early, without sacrificing the quality of the foundation.
In this contract, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to translate non-functional requirements into a clear, scalable design, then help bring that architecture to life through hands-on development. This is a great fit for an architect who still loves building and wants to shape technical decisions from day one.
You’ll have meaningful ownership early, including the chance to influence the application’s architecture, technology choices, and delivery approach. Expect a collaborative environment focused on practical outcomes, smart design, and building something that genuinely improves how people work.
You’ll lead early-stage solution design, turning non-functional requirements into a scalable technical architecture.
You’ll define the end-to-end approach for an AI-driven workflow within a secure internal web application.
You’ll partner with stakeholders to clarify scope, priorities, and delivery milestones, especially during the initial “speed run” phase.
You’ll build and guide full stack development, ensuring the architecture is implemented cleanly and efficiently.
You’ll evaluate and integrate OpenAI or similar LLM APIs, with attention to reliability, performance, and governance.
You’ll make and document technology choices early, setting the standard for quality, maintainability, and future scaling.
8–10+ years of progressive experience in application architecture, full stack development, and web application delivery.
Proven ability to translate non-functional requirements into practical, production-ready solution designs.
Strong experience building web applications end-to-end, including API design and integration patterns.
Hands-on experience implementing solutions using OpenAI APIs and modern GPT models in real workflows.
Comfortable making early technical decisions, documenting trade-offs, and setting engineering direction.
Bonus: Laravel/PHP experience or the ability to ramp quickly in that ecosystem.
