About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to bring your transportation expertise into a fast-paced, detail-driven environment where accuracy truly matters. As a Freight Invoice Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring freight costs are billed correctly and efficiently, directly supporting the financial health and operational flow of the organization.

Working within a retail and logistics enviroment, you will collaborate closely with internal transportation teams and external carriers. Your work will help resolve discrepancies, maintain strong carrier relationships, and ensure that billing processes across ocean and rail shipments run smoothly and on time.

Your Responsibilities

• You’ll review and validate freight invoices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with shipment records

• In this role, you’ll match invoices to billable events and verify charges against contractual agreements

• You’ll assign appropriate GL codes based on the organization’s Chart of Accounts and support accurate financial reporting

• You’ll process invoices in designated freight payment systems, ensuring timelines are consistently met

• You’ll respond to carrier inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies within one business day

• You’ll prepare and reconcile monthly carrier accruals, addressing aged items and variances

• You’ll collaborate with internal transportation teams to resolve rate or invoice concerns and support ad hoc requests

Skills and Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in freight audit, transportation accounting, or accounts payable within logistics

• Hands-on experience with ocean or rail transportation invoicing is required

• Strong understanding of freight billing, contractual terms, and reconciliation processes

• Proven experience with GL coding and accrual preparation

• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage complex, high-volume invoices

• Clear communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
