Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) infirmier(ère) auxiliaire autorisé(e) à temps plein pour se joindre à notre équipe de services de santé à la Base des Forces canadiennes d’Ottawa. Il s’agit d’une occasion hors pair de pratiquer dans un environnement clinique unique et stimulant, tout en bénéficiant d’un horaire structuré.

Responsabilités

  • Effectuer des évaluations de triage lors des consultations sans rendez-vous, incluant l’historique médical, l’examen physique, la prise des signes vitaux et les tests d’acuité visuelle.
  • Réaliser des interventions infirmières telles que l’application de pansements stériles, le contrôle des infections, la collecte d’échantillons et la prise des signes vitaux.
  • Élaborer un plan de soins en fonction des résultats d’évaluation, signaler tout changement dans l’état du patient et référer au médecin ou à un autre professionnel de la santé au besoin.
  • Administrer les médicaments conformément aux ordonnances et aux normes provinciales, observer les effets thérapeutiques et assister lors de traitements ou procédures.
  • Effectuer des injections, des soins de plaies, surveiller les thérapies respiratoires et intraveineuses, et préparer les patients pour des interventions chirurgicales mineures.
  • Fournir de l’enseignement en santé (instructions préopératoires/postopératoires, soins de confort, conseils cliniques).
  • Accomplir diverses tâches administratives : répondre aux demandes des patients, préparer ou archiver les dossiers médicaux, etc.
  • Gérer les fournitures médicales : commandes, réapprovisionnement, inventaire.
  • Nettoyer les aires de soins entre les patients, stériliser et emballer les instruments chirurgicaux.

Qualifications

  • Diplôme d’un programme reconnu en soins infirmiers auxiliaires et permis valide du OIIO (Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers de l’Ontario).
  • Certification à jour en BLS pour professionnels de la santé ou RCR niveau C.
  • Minimum d’un an d’expérience à temps plein dans les trois dernières années, en milieu de soins primaires ou ambulatoires, incluant l’évaluation de patients adultes et la prestation de soins directs pour diverses pathologies.
  • Maîtrise du français (oral et écrit).

Horaire de la clinique : du lundi au vendredi, de 7 h 30 à 16 h

Capacité d’obtenir une cote de sécurité du gouvernement du Canada (niveau Fiabilité).

Position Overview

Calian is seeking to hire a full time RPN for the Health Services team at the Canadian Forces Base Ottawa. This is a great opportunity to fit this role into your schedule and provide care in a unique clinic setting.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who have always wanted to work in a military health clinic and support the health of military men and women. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4pm.

Responsibilities

  • Perform triage assessments of patients during walk-in hours and patient assessments, which include medical or incident history, physical examinations, vitals signs measurement, and vision acuity testing
  • Perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques such as sterile dressing, and ensuring infection control, and conducting specimen collection
  • Developing a nursing care plan based on the result of the assessments, communicating any changes or abnormal findings of the patients’ condition or status, and referring to a physician or other health care provider as required
  • Administering medications as per doctor’s orders and provincial scope pf practice while observing and documenting therapeutic effects, assist in treatments and procedures with physicians or other health care providers
  • Perform therapeutic injections and wound care, administer, and monitor established respiratory therapy and IV therapy, and prepare patients for minor surgery procedures
  • Provide health education to patients including pre-operative and post-operative patient teaching such as clinical and procedural instructions and comfort care
  • Perform administrative tasks such as written or telephone responses to patient queries, preparation of medical files for physicians or other health care providers, and return of the medical files to the health record department
  • Monitor all medical supplies and inventory including ordering and replenishing
  • Clean all patient care areas between patients, and clean, sterilize, and package surgical instruments

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a Practical Nursing Program and licensed and in good standing as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nursing, Ontario
  • Current BLS for Heath Provider or CPR Level C Certification
  • 1 year of full-time experience in the last 3 years in nursing practice conducting patient assessment and providing direct nursing care for a broad range of diseases in an adult population in a primary care setting or ambulatory care setting

Additional Requirements

  • You must be able to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance (Enhanced Reliability)

Compensation

The hourly rate offered ranges between $40 per hour. In addition, the successful candidate will receive a comprehensive benefits plan effective their first day of work, 4 weeks of paid vacation.
