Your Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Project Archaeologist to join our Archaeology team in Ontario. An individual in this role will be highly organized and self-motivated. Your expertise will be utilized in all parts of Ontario, from urban core brownfields to fly-in only wilderness, for a wide array of private and public sector clients. You may also take advantage of opportunities to collaborate with Stantec colleagues across Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Project Manager and provide Field Supervisor oversight, when required

  • Manage and execute all aspects of archaeological projects, from proposal development and project setup to deliverable preparation and submission

  • Work closely with other Project Managers and Team Leads to organize resourcing and logistics

  • Monitor project financials with the assistance of a financial team

  • Participate in business development and proposal preparation

  • Liaise with Indigenous communities, clients, and regulators

  • Work closely with Field Supervisors to deliver technically sound recommendations for cultural resource management

  • Manage project teams of up to 20+ individuals

  • Write or quality review proposals and archaeological reports

  • Actively participate in and promote Stantec’s HSSE program

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Highly organized and willing to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to mentor junior staff

  • Desire to work closely with other environmental professionals, regulatory staff, and Indigenous community members

  • Previous experience as an Ontario Field Supervisor an asset

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset

  • A valid Ontario drivers license is required

Education and Experience

Master’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, or equivalent, is required

Professional Archaeology License issued by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, in good standing is required

Minimum of 5 years of cultural resource management experience required, with a minimum one year of experience managing archaeological projects

Pay Range:

• Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC & Various locations in Ontario-$76,900.00 - $111,500.00 Annually

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$81,500.00 - $118,200.00 Annually
