Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid, 2 days on-site per week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays)
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time, 6 months 
Clearance: Criminal and Credit Background Checks Required
Language: English, professional written and verbal communication required
Compensation: $28-30/hr


About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a respected organization in the financial services sector that is experiencing a period of high activity and growth within their Compliance team. With an increased volume of AML cases and a need to clear a significant backlog, they are bringing on a contract AML Analyst who can step in quickly and make an immediate impact through strong case investigation and analytical work.

In this role, you will join a collaborative and supportive team that values accuracy, accountability, and thoughtful investigation. You will focus exclusively on AML case work, helping the organization maintain strong regulatory standards while ensuring timely and high-quality completion of transaction reviews and EDD investigations. Your work will directly support the effectiveness of the AML program and protect the organization’s integrity.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll independently investigate AML cases, including transaction monitoring alerts and Enhanced Due Diligence reviews, ensuring thorough and compliant analysis.

  • In this role, you’ll draft clear, well-supported case notes and Suspicious Transaction Reports aligned with FINTRAC guidelines.

  • You’ll focus on clearing backlog cases efficiently, meeting productivity expectations of at least two completed cases per day.

  • You’ll collaborate closely with the AML Team Lead, escalating higher-risk findings and contributing to consistent case quality standards.


Skills and Qualifications

  • 1+ years of hands-on experience in AML case investigations, transaction monitoring, or EDD.

  • Working knowledge of FINTRAC reporting requirements, including STR preparation and submission.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret transactional behaviour and identify risk indicators.

  • Comfortable working in high-volume, case-focused environments with productivity targets.

  • Clear, professional communication skills and strong documentation habits.
