We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst in Scotiabank’s Global Wealth Engineering division.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Provide day‑to‑day production support for Charles River and related technologies, ensuring stability and timely resolution of system issues.
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) on production incidents and recommend remediation or preventive measures.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, compliance, operations and support teams to enhance system functionalities within Charles River.
  • Collaborate with IT and vendors on system enhancements, upgrades, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Maintain and communicate application changes and issues to key stakeholders
  • Analyze trade workflows, compliance rules, and operational processes to identify areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, compliance, operations, and support teams to understand issues and validate fixes.
  • Maintain and communicate updates on system issues, resolutions, and change impacts to key stakeholders.
  • Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT), production validations, and post‑deployment support.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Experience with Charles River Investment Management System(CRIMS), Charles River Everywhere(CRE) or similar Trading and Portfolio Management systems is strongly preferred
  • 3–4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst within wealth management, asset management, or similar financial domains.
  • Strong understanding of investment workflows, order management, and trade lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with Wealth Management systems such as Client Accounting/Book of Record, Portfolio Performance, Transaction History, etc.
  • Experience working in Agile environments and writing user stories.
  • Experience with complex investment systems

Analysis and Problem Solving

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with proven experience performing systems and business root‑cause analysis.
  • Ability to interpret system behavior, logs, data flows, and configuration details to diagnose issues.

Technical Skills

  • Intermediate to advanced SQL skills for investigating data issues across systems.
  • Ability to work with multiple investment systems to gather data and validate findings.
  • Familiarity with interfaces, upstream/downstream system dependencies, and file/message flows.

Stakeholder Support & Communication

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to translate technical issues into clear business language.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with technical teams, business users, and vendor support teams.
