About the Opportunity
Our financial services client is seeking a Compliance Officer to join their team for a permanent full time position in Toronto, ON. In this role you’ll work closely with colleagues across investment, operations, and corporate teams, acting as a trusted advisor who helps translate regulatory requirements into practical, real-world solutions. Your work will directly support the organization’s ability to operate responsibly, protect investors, and maintain strong relationships with regulators—all while being part of a collaborative, people-first culture.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure policies and procedures remain current and aligned with Canadian securities legislation.
- Manage key compliance activities, including personal trading reviews and compliance workflows using specialized compliance systems.
- Coordinate critical regulatory deliverables, such as prospectus renewals, regulatory questionnaires, and compliance input for RFPs.
- Conduct internal audits and compliance testing to assess adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with business partners to integrate compliance considerations into strategic and operational decisions.
- Support annual compliance training, helping employees understand their responsibilities in a clear and practical way.
Qualifications:
- 3–5+ years of experience in a financial services compliance role
Strong working knowledge of Canadian securities regulations, particularly retail and prospectus-exempt products - Ability to apply legal and regulatory concepts in a practical business context
- Experience supporting audits, regulatory filings, and compliance testing activities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to engage diverse stakeholders
- High attention to detail, strong accountability, and the ability to work independently
- Post-secondary degree in a relevant field
