If you’re looking for a fulfilling career that can make a real difference in your life, and the lives of others, you’ve come to the right place.

As a national health solutions partner, we put people first in everything we do — and that begins with our team of 8,000+ professionals who bring a cross-section of diverse life experiences and career expertise to Medavie. By collaborating and innovating together, our employees are creating industry-leading solutions in insurance, primary care and emergency medical services that impact millions of lives in Canada each year.

Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of Canadians so that every life can be lived to the fullest — and it’s reflected in our award-winning culture. We celebrate individuality and value the diverse perspectives and skills our employees contribute. We go beyond providing competitive pay and comprehensive benefits to offer opportunities for personal and professional growth, flexible work options, meaningful experiences, and supportive leadership. Medavie is where employees can be their best selves, feel they belong, and achieve their full potential. Be part of it by applying for a position with us today.

Why make the move to Medavie Blue Cross?

  • Sell a bigger story than insurance. Medavie is a health solutions partner that integrates benefits management (health, dental, travel, life, disability) with healthcare delivery (EMS and primary care) under one organization—so your team can take an end‑to‑end health outcomes narrative to market, not just a product list.

  • Mission over dividends. We’re a not‑for‑profit—we reinvest in people, product, and communities rather than paying shareholders. Clients and advisors value purpose‑led partners, and our Medavie Foundation focuses on healthy living, youth mental health, and PTSD with structured grant cycles that make impact tangible.

  • Ontario credibility, real traction. As one of the fastest growing insurers, we already partner with a large portfolio of major employers in Ontario—you’ll build on momentum, not from scratch. You’ll also benefit from the strength and trust that is inherent in the ‘Blue Cross’ name.

  • Innovation that opens doors. Our track-record of pioneering leading benefit solutions is well recognized in the market. We invest in outcome‑focused solutions, exactly the kind of capability Ontario plan sponsors want to see.

  • Public‑sector trust. Medavie is a long‑standing administrator of public health programs (claims, provider registry, drug plans)—credibility that helps executive sales leaders win complex RFPs and long‑term relationships.

The impact you’ll lead

As Regional VP, Business Development, you will set and execute the regional growth strategy for Ontario—leading and elevating a high‑performing sales organization, deepening advisor relationships, and delivering profitable, sustainable growth. You’ll coach for excellence, champion client‑centricity, and bring integrated health solutions to market in ways that differentiate us from “insurance‑only” competitors.

What you’ll do

  • Own the regional growth plan. Create, communicate, and execute the annual business plan aligned to revenue, profitability and client impact goals; continuously monitor, analyze, and present results to optimize client satisfaction, employee experience and win rates.

  • Lead and scale a high‑performing sales team. Coach, motivate, and mobilize Corporate Account Executives, Brokerage Sales, and Group Sales leadership to deliver against targets and best‑in‑class service with clients, advisors, and consultants.

  • Drive market differentiation. Position Medavie’s integrated benefits and health delivery value proposition; translate competitive intelligence, regulatory developments, and product trends into actionable market plays.

  • Strengthen advisor & consultant partnerships. Build deep, trust‑based relationships; identify relationship touchpoints that accelerate new business and increase client persistency across all group segments.

  • Elevate sales operations. Oversee prospecting cadence, RFP strategy, and finalist execution; raise CRM (Salesforce) adoption and effectiveness with robust pipeline health and impactful reporting to improve sales activity efficiency.

  • Partner cross‑functionally. Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Client Services, and Underwriting teams to shape the product roadmap, launch changes, and ensure seamless new business implementation.

  • Be the voice of the market. Maintain a strong grasp of competitive, legislative, and distribution trends across Ontario; inform go‑to‑market decisions and channel strategies to sustain advantage.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership in group benefits/insurance or financial services, with a track record of hitting and exceeding sales and profitability targets.

  • Expertise in benefits products, sales leadership, market dynamics, and distribution channels; proven success leading teams through full‑cycle enterprise sales.

  • Team leadership DNA: exceptional coaching, talent development, and performance management; ability to inspire high energy, accountability, and client‑first culture.

  • Data‑savvy communicator: strong analytics plus compelling storytelling; skilled at executive‑level presentations and negotiation.

  • Strategic collaborator: comfortable partnering across Underwriting, Product, Marketing, and Operations to deliver outcome‑focused solutions.

  • Salesforce proficiency (or equivalent CRM) and disciplined pipeline management.

  • University degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, or Business (or equivalent experience).

  • Bilingual (English/French) is an asset given our national footprint.

What’s in it for you

  • A differentiated sales platform: sell health outcomes plus benefits backed by public‑sector program credibility—unique in Canada’s market.

  • Purpose‑driven culture: join a Top 100 Employer recognized for employee well‑being and development.

  • Community impact: contribute to meaningful initiatives through the Medavie Foundation (healthy living, youth mental health, PTSD).

  • Innovation runway: help bring practical innovations to Ontario plan sponsors and advisors.

  • Competitive total rewards aligned to performance and leadership impact.

Who we are

We’re a team of over 8,000 professionals serving clients from coast-to-coast with operations in most provinces. We provide health benefits to nearly 1 in 10 Canadians and manage emergency medical services for nearly 1 in 15 Canadians.

We’ve been a leading health services partner for individuals, employers and governments across Canada for 80 years and a premier all-in-one carrier that provides health, dental, travel, life and disability benefits to individuals and organizations.

We've been recognized as one of Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures, one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, and an Imagine Caring Company.

What we value

Our values are inherent to our culture and provide the framework for each interaction we have and transaction we make, while providing a clear set of expectations to empower employees to do the right thing for everyone we serve. We are:

Caring – We show compassion in everything we do

Accountable – We follow through on our commitments

Responsive – We have the courage to act and adapt

Innovative – We encourage and value new ideas

Community-minded – We achieve more together

More than simply a poster on the wall, our mission of improving the wellbeing of Canadians represents the purpose of our organization ― and we align that with our culture.

What we give back

As a not-for-profit organization, we don’t answer to shareholders. Instead, we invest our earnings in our business, our communities and, most importantly, our employees. We use some of these earnings to support:

Programs to support causes that are close to our employees' hearts, matching the volunteer hours and donations they contribute

An annual United Way workplace campaign led by employees in each of our locations

The Medavie Foundation, which invests in community initiatives and organizations that improve the wellbeing of Canadians, focuses on some of the most pressing mental and physical health challenges facing Canadians.

We want to meet you as you are

At Medavie Blue Cross, we foster a culture of openness, understanding and a sense of belonging where everyone can bring their true selves to work. Nearly 70% of our management roles are held by women and we’re committed to creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where everyone is valued for who they are and what they contribute. We will accommodate people with disabilities during the recruitment, selection and hiring processes.

If you live our values and deliver results, you’ll experience meaningful, rewarding work in a purpose-centred, inclusive organization that provides:

Flexible work options: We want you to work where you work best. We offer work from home, from the office, or a hybrid of the two, while ensuring you feel connected to your team and to our purpose.
