About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established organization in the private sector that is looking for a seasoned HR Project Manager to join their people-focused team. In this role, you will support meaningful HR programs that shape employee experience across Canada. You will work onsite alongside a collaborative HR team that supports approximately 300 employees, contributing to projects that require strong critical thinking, content expertise, and independence.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, purpose-driven environment and demonstrates commitment and professionalism from Day 1. You will work closely with experienced HR leaders who value accountability, clear communication, and comfort with standard onboarding processes, as well as the ability to manage complex projects with minimal oversight. We are looking for someone who is engaged, open, and genuinely gives the role a fair chance, integrates with the team, and contributes consistently from the outset. If you enjoy building frameworks, refining content, and elevating HR programs, this contract offers the chance to make a significant impact from day one.

What’s in it for You

You’ll join a workplace that truly values accountability, integrity, and professionalism. You’ll gain exposure to high-impact HR programs that directly shape organizational strategy, all within a culture that supports autonomy and empowers you to take full ownership of your projects. This role is with a Great Place to Work Certified employer, recognized for its strong commitment to people and process excellence. Plus, enjoy the benefit of early Friday finishes at 1:00 PM.

Your Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will redesign key components of the national performance review program, including vendor assessment, timelines, and rollout planning.
  • You will support the development of a career path framework, ensuring competencies and job descriptions are aligned. This includes the Primary Project: Career Paths Initiative, where you will develop and update job descriptions, support job mapping and leveling using spreadsheets, assist with career framework structure, and create training decks to support rollout for leaders and employees.
  • You will review, evaluate, and rewrite job descriptions, ensuring content accuracy and clarity without relying on AI tools.
  • You will manage HR metrics and reporting, using Excel to clean data, run lookups, and build dashboards.
  • You will provide general HR support, contributing to benefits, talent acquisition, and health and safety activities as needed.
  • You will lead multiple HR projects end to end, planning deliverables and driving execution independently.
  • You will also support Secondary Project: Employment Standards, including supporting employment standards work across Canada with some U.S. exposure, conducting research, documentation, and assume practical application of standards. You must be able to step into policy-driven work as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience with strong project leadership.
  • Expertise in performance programs, competencies, and career pathing.
  • Advanced writing and content evaluation skills, with the ability to identify inaccuracies.
  • Strong Excel capability, including lookups, data cleanup, and metrics tracking.
  • Proven ability to work independently, with sound judgment and minimal oversight.
  • Tech-savvy, highly organized, and comfortable working on a wide variety of HR initiatives.
  • Strong HR foundations with hands-on execution skills and comfort working in detail-heavy, structured project environments.
  • Open to contract-based work without expectations of senior leadership scope.
  • Collaborative, adaptable, receptive to direction, and comfortable integrating into an established team.
