The Team

We are part of the GBME Data Platform team who acts as a key business functionality within the bank leveraged by regulatory and non-regulatory systems. Data platform currently supports 100+ source systems in terms of development and solutioning using some of the key cloud technologies like  GCP/ Kubernetes / Kafka / NiFi / Elasticsearch & Dremio.

The role:

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for providing onboarding solutions to the above mentioned technology stack as well as maintain stability and integrity of the data platform. This role is a dedicated resource to support regulatory / compliance data platform onboarding guidance and production support.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant cloud/on-prem infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate with teams to define best practices CI/CD, and infrastructure automation over cloud and on-prem platform
  • Support modernization efforts including containerization (e.g., Docker) and serverless technologies.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Define and manage development, testing, release, update, and support processes for DevOps operations.
  • Monitor cloud/on-prem applications to ensure reliability and performance using SLOs, SLIs, and proactive issue resolution.
  • Configure and test backup, failover, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Maintain and support development, staging, and production environments (e.g., GKE clusters).
  • Ensure consistency and reliability across all environments through automation and standardization.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and scaling of cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
  • Continuously refine DevOps processes to improve deployment speed, reliability, and security.
  • Streamline operational workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Deploy containerized workloads using orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Helm charts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues.
  • Architect scalable, secure, and resilient cloud infrastructure solutions aligned with business goals.
  • Define enterprise-wide DevOps strategies, standards, and best practices for cloud adoption and migration.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 3+ years of DevOps / SRE experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker Technologies
  • Strong VM management background with Linux administrator experience (RHEL preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with DevOps automation tools such as Jenkins/Ansible/Terraform
  • Hands-on knowledge and expertise in scripting and automation languages such as Groovy, Python, Bash/Shell.
  • Experience with manage/monitor system performance using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack or Dynatrace.
  • Working knowledge of Streaming technology, SQL/NoSQL DB and ETL solution, preferred Kafka, Elasticsearch, Apache Nifi
  • Highly skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Capital Markets and Banking experience is an asset
