Responsibilities:
The Oracle Technical Analyst plays a key role in supporting, enhancing, and developing solutions within our Oracle modules including but not limited to HRMS, Payroll, Timecards, HCM, and finance applications. Leveraging practical experience and independent judgment, this role analyzes issues, interprets system information, and selects appropriate solutions within established standards. Working with both technical and functional teams, the analyst supports a broad range of service delivery activities, contributes to system improvements, and helps ensure reliable and efficient business operations.
Independently monitor, investigate, and resolve Tier 3 incidents and processing exceptions using established troubleshooting methods, minimizing impact to business users and ensuring key control requirements are met.
Provide technical expertise for assigned project role on implementing Oracle solutions.
Contribute to solution design, configuration, integration, testing, training, knowledge‑transfer, and post‑production support activities, including planning, preparing, and executing functional and system testing, developing test cases, and assisting in issue resolution.
Use judgement to ensure accuracy and adhere to standards, perform service delivery activities including period/quarter/year-end processing, mass data updates, and various hierarchy changes.
Execute scheduled maintenance activities such as responding to system alerts.
Execute a variety of tasks in support of acquisition migrations.
Collaborate with functional and other technical analysts, consulting them on end‑user system practices and escalating incidents when resolution through the front end is not evident
Identify opportunities to reduce or prevent incidents occurring such as educating/training end-users, or functional/technical changes.
Log SRs with vendors and coordinate diagnostics, requested actions and perform testing.
Adhere to Stantec’s Solution Delivery Framework, Incident Management, and Change Management procedures.
Qualifications:
Practical and hands-on experience with Oracle HRMS, Timecard, Payroll and HCM applications. Full-cycle implementation experience is an asset.
Experience with interfaces and conversion programs to import data from various sources into Oracle Applications using PL/SQL, SQL*Loader, WebADI, HDL, and OIC and other custom solutions.
Working knowledge of Oracle AOL objects including concurrent programs, responsibilities, menus, request groups, profile options, data groups and web PL/SQL and database concepts including tables, views, indexes, functions, packages, procedures.
Ability to interpret functional configuration and system flows that underpin an application to deliver functionality.
Strong customer service orientation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
Understanding of end-user system practices and processes for a particular business domain.
Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot routine to moderately complex issues.
Experience working a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Demonstrated proficiency with the following: - Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Understanding internal system flows for a particular application domain
QA testing tools such as Qtest
Atlassian Confluence and Jira
Bitbucket
Fluency in French is considered as an asset.
Qualifications & Working Conditions
A bachelor’s degree in business, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience in a relevant business domain.
A minimum of 5 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
