About the Opportunity

This is a newly created, in-house Accountant role within a growing investment management organization operating in the alternative investments space. As the firm continues to expand its portfolio and internal operations, this role has been designed to bring structure, consistency, and trusted financial oversight across multiple entities and fund-related activities.

You’ll work closely with a small, experienced leadership team and partners, supporting day-to-day management accounting, internal reporting, and financial coordination. Your work will play a key role in helping the organization stay organized, responsive, and confident as it supports stakeholders and plans for long-term growth, making this an ideal opportunity for someone eager to build depth in fund and asset management.

Your Responsibilities
  • You’ll manage day-to-day management accounting, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • You’ll support internal budgeting, forecasting, and cash management between operating and management companies.
  • You’ll collaborate with the CFO and part-time fund accountant on NAV-related inputs and financial accuracy.
  • You’ll prepare and maintain clear, reliable internal financial reports to support leadership discussions.
  • You’ll respond to evolving internal and external information requests, building an understanding of investor needs and expectations.
  • You’ll continuously improve spreadsheets, templates, and processes to drive efficiency and clarity.
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3 to 6 years of accounting experience, ideally within asset management, private equity, or venture capital.
  • CPA or CFA completed or in progress.
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial models, waterfalls, and IRR calculations.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop or similar ERP systems.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and comfort handling sensitive financial information.
  • Clear, confident communicator with the ability to grow into investor-facing interactions.
