About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a well-established organization within the insurance and reinsurance sector, supporting complex accounting operations with global reach. As a General Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth month-end processes, and strong collaboration across teams.

You will work closely with a tight-knit finance team, including the CFO and senior finance leaders, in a culture that values teamwork, efficiency, and continuous improvement. Your work will directly support business decision-making and operational excellence, while giving you exposure to both technical accounting and process enhancement initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll manage day-to-day general ledger accounting, including bank reconciliations and financial reporting for assigned areas.
  • In this role, you’ll support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • You’ll prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and supporting schedules.
  • You’ll run and analyze Sage Enterprise Intelligence reports to support financial insights and audits.
  • You’ll collaborate with underwriters, brokers, and internal stakeholders to resolve financial questions efficiently.
  • You’ll assist with premium and claims bordereaux preparation, submission, and tracking.
  • You’ll contribute to special projects focused on process improvement, automation, and cross-training within the team.


Skills and Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the insurance industry.
  • Currently pursuing a CPA designation or actively working toward it.
  • Hands-on experience with Sage, including Sage Enterprise Intelligence reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, Index and Match, pivot tables, and linked spreadsheets.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes, internal controls, and reconciliations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to adapt quickly and learn independently.
