Purpose 

 

The Manager, Communications, plays a key role in supporting the Private Banking business by driving the development of clear, compelling, and visually aligned communications that support strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Change Management & Communications, the incumbent will work closely with cross-functional partners to shape messaging, build executive-level materials, and ensure alignment with business priorities and brand standards.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • Lead the development of strategic communication materials for internal and external audiences, including executive briefings, leadership forums, client engagements, and roadshows.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to gather insights, refine messaging, and ensure communications reflect business strategy and tone.
  • Translate complex ideas into clear, audience-appropriate narratives that support engagement and understanding.
  • Support the creation of presentation materials as part of broader communication strategies, ensuring consistency in messaging and visual identity.
  • Maintain and evolve communication templates, tools, and best practices to support efficiency and quality.
  • Manage timelines and deliverables across multiple projects, ensuring high standards and timely execution.
  • Technical & Communication Skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, concise messaging.
  • Experience developing executive-level communications, including briefing notes, talking points, and presentation narratives.
  • Familiarity with brand and tone-of-voice guidelines, and ability to apply them consistently across materials.
  • Strong understanding of visual communication principles and layout design

 


Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen

 

  • Ability to understand and align communications with broader business strategy and objectives.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Private Banking, Wealth Management, or financial services industry trends and terminology

 

Project & Stakeholder Management

 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Experience working with senior leaders and navigating sensitive or confidential communications.
  • Comfortable facilitating discussions, gathering input, and synthesizing feedback from diverse stakeholders.


Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic communications, corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Expert writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an ability to tailor messaging to different audiences.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint and Word); design experience is an asset.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
  • Experience in Scotia Wealth Management/Private Banking is considered an asset.
