We are welcoming an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician who wants to step into a lead technician role, working alongside and supporting the team, mentoring newer technicians, and helping the hospital run smoothly day to day. This is a full-time position with direct access to a supportive General Manager who values technician leadership and growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide leadership and support to a team of RVTs and ACAs with varying levels of experience, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Review the schedule often to align RVTs and ACAs based on the needs of the business.
During team meetings and one on one connects, review vacation, overtime, on-call and other team related information.
Coordinate and lead various department and inter-department meetings to share learnings and company information
Prepare thoughtful performance evaluations for each team member.
Reviewing and maintaining protocols, policies and procedures, and adjusting or enhancing to provide the best working conditions
QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Veterinary Technician in good standing
Previous leadership, mentoring or lead technician experience; formal or informal
Emergency or urgent care experience considered an asset
Thoughtful interpersonal and teamwork skills with a collaborative style
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and professionalism
