Job Title: Data Migration SME
Location: Toronto, ON, Hybrid (2 days per week onsite in North York, subject to change)
Job Type: Contract, 27 months total, Initial 12 months with renewal after Year 1

Compensation (Estimated): $95–$115/hour INC, 7.25 h/d
About the Opportunity
Join a forward-thinking Ontario public sector regulator driving modernization across financial services and pensions. As the Data Migration SME on a multi-year program, you will shape the strategy that safely moves business-critical data into a new platform. Your work ensures integrity, continuity, and confidence at go-live.
You will partner with data architecture, delivery teams, and business stakeholders to validate the end-to-end migration approach, from profiling and cleansing through cutover and post-migration reconciliation. Your Responsibilities
• You will collaborate with the data architect to design and validate the migration strategy and sequencing (Data source system: Fox Pro and CRM Dynamics (8.2), target: Latest CRM dynamics.)
• You will develop SQL and Python code to profile, cleanse, and validate data readiness.
• You will review migration test plans, results, and defects, guiding remediation.
• You will validate migration scripts, transformation logic, and data user stories.
• You will plan and participate in cutover, including timing, dependencies, and checkpoints.
• You will prepare rollback and contingency plans and support post-migration reconciliation.
Skills and Qualifications
• 9+ years leading or validating large-scale data migrations, to CRM Dynamics 365
• Deep knowledge of data quality, reconciliation, and validation practices.
• Proficiency with SQL and Python for profiling and controls.
• Experience working with system integrators and cross-functional teams.
• Composed decision-making during cutover and go-live.
• Financial / public sector experiences will be a plus
