Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently seeking a talented and dedicated Transportation Project Manager to complement and grow our skilled Transportation Roads and Highways Team in the Greater Toronto Area with offices in Markham and Burlington. Reporting to the Department Manager, you will assist in the pursuit of and be responsible for leading and managing multi-disciplinary project teams in the delivery of Ministry of Transportation, Ontario (MTO) preliminary and detail design assignments.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Roads and Highway Team responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams.

  • Preparing and managing project budgets, work plans, and schedules.

  • Communicating and liaising with MTO.

  • Consulting with agencies, stakeholders and public.

  • Overseeing complex evaluations of planning and design alternatives.

  • Overseeing quality control of project deliverables.

  • Staff development and mentoring.

  • Supporting business development and proposal preparation.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Demonstrated ability as a project manager of multi-disciplinary project teams for MTO.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with clients and external stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of MTO polices, standards, and specifications.

  • Experience with business development and proposal preparation an asset.

  • Possesses good oral and written communication skills.

  • Experienced in AutoCAD, Microstation and InRoads or Civil 3D software will set you apart from your peer group

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.

  • Professional registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario.

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the transportation engineering industry specifically related to preliminary and detail design.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
