About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to lead product innovation in a role that blends creativity, strategy, and a genuine passion for the outdoors. You will join a well-established, national retail organization within the consumer and outdoor recreation space, known for its investment in design excellence and customer-focused innovation.

Working closely with cross-functional partners across brand, merchandising, quality, and global manufacturing teams, you will shape outdoor products that balance performance, quality, style, and value. Your work will directly influence how customers experience outdoor adventure, from concept through to launch and beyond.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll lead and mentor a high-performing product development team, fostering innovation and accountability.
  • In this role, you’ll develop and execute product assortment strategies aligned with customer insights and business objectives.
  • You’ll oversee the full product lifecycle, from concept development and storytelling to production and post-launch analysis.
  • You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to ensure timely, high-quality product launches.
  • You’ll manage relationships with manufacturing partners to deliver on design intent, quality standards, and cost targets.
  • You’ll monitor performance metrics, budgets, and market feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive product development experience, with at least 2 years in a people leadership role.
  • Post-secondary education in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with outdoor or sporting goods products is a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as cut-and-sew, molding, printing, and welding.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Confident communicator with strong presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder influence skills.
